I know, I know, it's been awhile since I've posted. I'm just not really sure what to write about. I've never been good about keeping diaries/journals.
Anyway, here's a few Kelton funnies that have happened recently.....
*The other day while running circles around the kitchen/living room, having Shiloh chase him, Kelton stopped suddenly and fell to the ground. He grabbed his foot and said "Oh, wait, I've sprained my uncle!" "Your uncle?" I asked him. "Yes!" he replied, while pointing to his ankle area. I told him that was his ankle, not uncle. He said "Oh," and kinda' laughed, "I thought it was my uncle!"
*When Cam was putting Kelton's new car seat in the car last weekend, Kelton was playing in the garage and came across the large dog crate we had used for Shiloh. He was going in and out of it, closing the door. I looked over at him and said "Honey, don't play in there." He, of course, asked why. I replied, "Because it's gross." He then said, "But, I like gross things!"
*Last night, while I went out for a mom's night out, Cam took the boys to the mall. Kelton's favorite place to play is Pottery Barn Kids. Cam let Kelton run ahead into the store and he sat with Kaiden on the couches in front of PBK to give Kaiden some dinner. After a few minutes of Kelton playing in the store by himself, it became apparent to Cam that the store workers were wondering where Kelton's parents were. Cam made eye contact with one of them, smiled and waved and pointed to Kelton. One of the workers went over to talk to Kelton and then another one came out and told Cam that they couldn't allow Kelton to play in there without a parent but it would be fine if he continued to feed Kaiden in the store. So Cam and Kaiden went back in the store to watch Kelton. Cam asked Kelton what the lady said to him and Kelton said something to the effect of she said I had to have my mommy or daddy with me. Cam then asked what Kelton said after that and he said "I told her 'Oh, I'll be fine'."
*The other day at gym class, apparently the conversation on the trampoline was Kelton saying "I'm the highest guy!" The other boy saying, "I'm the up-est guy!" And then the little girl in their class, chiming in, "I have Hello Kitty panties on!"

"Look, I threw up my favorite color!"
Last night, Kelton was snacking on some jack cheese and spinning circles in the kitchen while Cam prepared dinner. I was sitting at the table and all of a sudden I heard a splat! I looked over at Kelton and he had been spinning so many circles, he threw up his cheese! He stood there in the middle of the kitchen floor, unsure what to do. We told him he was okay and that he apparently and been spinning too many circles while eating. He looked at the pile of orange throw-up on the floor and excitedly said, "Look! I threw up my favorite color!" Cam and I started laughing and Cam said something like "Indeed, you did! That's pretty tricky that you threw up your favorite color!"
Kelton was quite proud of that! Even later that night, when I was getting him ready for his bath, he mentioned getting a drop of throw-up on his foot. And he said "It was orange throw-up! Because orange is my favorite color!"
How lucky we would be if we could all be as excited each time we threw up!

The decision's been made!
We've finally made the big decision....I'm going to be a stay-at-home mom!!! My boss called and left a message yesterday saying she needed an answer as to whether I'm going back to work or going to resign. I was hoping she would hold off as long as possible, but I suppose the decision had to be made anyway.
So, after a quick discussion, we made my dream become a reality! I am soooo excited!!! I feel very fortunate that we are able to do this! Now, I can stay at home and do all sorts of fun things with my boys (which, at the moment, does not include potty training. Apparently, Kelton going in the toilet was just a freak thing. He hasn't done so since! Oh, well!).
And, as some of you may not know, I have also decided to become co-president of my Moms club, which I'll start in July. I'm really looking forward to that, too! That's all for now, the little one is calling.

Let the potty training begin!!!
The potty training has officially started! Kelton knows when he has to pee (he makes that clear every time he gets in the bath). He certainly makes it obvious when he has to poo! So, we decided to give the potty training a try. I took him and Kaiden to Babies R Us today and we bought a little toilet seat for the regular potty (he has no interest in going in the little Baby Bjorn potty we've had in our bathroom for him), pull-ups, big boy underwear, and flushable toddler wipes. I've printed out potty training charts and we're going to go get stickers tonight or tomorrow for those charts. Oh, and can't forget the most important element....a large bag of M & M's!
We're off to a good start! I told Kelton he could have 2 M & M's each time he pees in the toilet and 5 for each poo in does in the toilet. When we were at BRU this morning, he pooped (we hadn't started the training at that time). We came back home and set everything up and he said he wanted to try to go on the potty. I was excited and helped him get situated. I was encouraging him to go pee and he said he was going to go poo. I tried explaining to him that he had already gone just about an hour earlier. He said "But if I go poo, then I get five M & M's." I told him that was correct and if he went pee, he was going to get two M & M's. He told me again that he was going to go poo (going for the big number of M & M's!). So, we're sitting there, and lo and behold, I heard a plop! He jumped up and I asked if he went poo. He said "Yeah! I did. Can I have five M & M's now?" I told him he could. He asked "Right now?" I said we had to get his diaper and pants back on, but then he could have some. A few minutes later he was thorougly enjoying him five M & M's! We talked about trying to go pee in the potty as soon as he wakes up from his nap, and if he does go, that means more M & M's.
We'll see how it goes. We don't plan on pushing too hard for this to happen, but we'll see. I have a feeling, with some M & M's and sticker bribery, this may just work out!

Mommy doesn't have a penis
It was on my birthday last year and I had just taken a shower. I had my towel wrapped around me (and I have one of those nice big bath sheets). Kelton came in the bedroom and while I was looking at my dresser figuring out what I was going to wear, he pulled one corner of the towel up and looked under the towel quizzically. Here's the conversation that took place.....
Kelton: "Mommy, you don't have a penis?"
Mommy: "No, honey. Mommies don't have a penis. Only boys have a penis."
Kelton: "You don't have a penis?" (Still holding a corner of the towel and looking underneath)
Mommy: "No, mommy does not have a penis."
Kelton: (Puts his hands on my inner thighs and starts trying to push them outward.) "Mommy, open your legs." (He bends down and is now crouching at my feet, looking up.)
Mommy: (I open my legs a little and am trying not to laugh at this point)
Kelton: (With furrowed eyebrows and looking up between my legs) "Hmmmmm. You don't have a penis."
Mommy: "No, honey. Mommies do not have penis'. Only boys have penis'."
Kelton: (He puts his hands on my outer thighs and pushes them closed.) "Ok, close your legs."(Stands up and starts to walk away. He turns back around and looks at me.) "Mommy, do you have a belly button?"
Mommy: "Yes, honey. I do have a belly button."
Kelton: (Walks out of the room, apparently now satisfied with our conversation).

"It drives me NUTS!"
Today, the little guys and I went to my sister, Kati and her husband, Bryan's house, in Live Oak. It was Bryan's niece's birthday. Kelton had a great time playing with Michael and Marissa. They had fun playing in the bounce house they rented, blowing bubbles in the front yard and playing trucks in the driveway. When we go to Yuba City to visit my parents, Kelton usually falls asleep on the way home, but wakes up as soon as we pull into the driveway (if not before). Once he wakes up from that, I can't put him back down for a nap. I always end up trying to get him to lay down, even though, it hasn't happened in a long time. So, once again, I try today to put him into his room, on his bed, after watching one of his show's (which is a normal nap-time routine). And, once again, he yells for me and asks if he can get up. When I tell him that's fine, he did a great big sigh and got off his bed. When we got into the living room he said "It drives me NUTS!" I had never heard him say that (although, I know I say that). I asked him what drives him nuts and he sighed again and said "I didn't nap." I told him I know that and asked why it drives him nuts that he doesn't nap. He did another sigh and just replied "Because I didn't nap!" Ok, buddy, I know Mommy says that and yes, it does drive me nuts that you didn't nap! (I certainly didn't say that to him, though!) You sure learn a lot about what you say when you listen to what your children are saying!

The beginning
Ok, so I recently got started on Facebook and am LOVING it! So, I figured the next logical step is to start blogging, right? My purpose for this blog is to keep my friends and family updated on all the happenings, funny sayings, and adventures of my boys, the Coye Boys, and I.
This week, Kelton and I have been battling a cold. Plenty of kleenexes have been used around here! We did manage to make it to Chuck E. Cheese on Monday, Kelton's dentist appt and music class on Tuesday, Kelton and I ran errands on Thursday morning, and then the little boys and I had a playgroup today at Melanie's house.
When we came back from Chuck E. Cheese on Monday afternoon, Kelton told Cam "Daddy, you're never going to believe this! We saw the real Chuck E. Cheese!" Kelton was so excited and it was one of the cutest things I've ever heard him say!
That's about it for now. I hope to write at least every few days. Thanks for spending some time with me!
